You decided to become a coach because you are driven to serve. You want to help people achieve their goals and dreams. You want to live a life of passion and purpose. You want the freedom of being paid to do what you love to do.

These are awesome reasons to become a coach and you certainly have your heart in the right place. But I’m going to give it to you straight: that’s not enough. Wanting to be a coach and then actually gaining the experience or certification to call yourself a coach… That’s not enough either.

The reason I say this? There are way too many good coaches out there who nobody has ever heard of. I’d even say that some of these unknowns are exceptional.

If you really want to be a coach who creates change, if you want to do what you set out to do… If you want to help more people, serve more and enjoy a life of freedom and purpose, you need to get your message out there. You need to be heard in a crowded, noisy, 24-hour world that never sleeps.

The truth is there are thousands (maybe even millions) of coaches. They all have a message. They all want to be recognized. If your message gets drowned out, it won’t be heard. No one will know you. This means no clients. No income and eventually… No coaching practice.

So if you’re serious about starting, growing and sustaining a 6 or 7-figure coaching practice, you need to get the fundamentals right.

And the most important among these is to learn how to rise above the interminable noise and chatter so your message stands out and you get the recognition that you deserve…

Here are 3 important elements you need to get right if you want your message to be heard.

#1 – Don’t Care

This probably sounds like bad advice to you but here’s what I mean… Never allow other people’s opinions to influence your message or stop you from spreading it. You want to hear what your audience has to say and you want to always stay open to feedback but that’s where it ends.

Other people do not get a say on who you have to be and what you want to do with your message. That needs to come from you.

If you want your message to be heard and to have the impact that you’re hoping for, it needs to be fuelled by your own beliefs and your passion. This cannot happen if you allow others to “edit” or “rework” what you want to say to the world.

Whether you’re a confidence, health, mindset or any other kind of coach, your message creates the fundamental base of your entire coaching practice.

If you allow everyone else to chop and change it based on what they think, you won’t feel like it’s a part of you and when this happens, your message will fall flat no matter how good it sounds or how amazing it is.

I guarantee it.

#2 – Give Freely

Your message can only be heard if people listen. Now this sounds obvious, I know, but I want you to reflect on it for a moment.

No matter how good your message and how deep your passion are for it, it won’t get heard if no one else cares enough to listen to what you have to say. There’s a powerful method you can use to create an engaged audience who loves to listen to everything you have to say…

Give freely. Give as much value as you can. Give as much time, effort and energy as you can afford.

You may be typing words out on your computer a thousand miles away from the people who read those words, you may be speaking into a video camera half a world away but here’s something you need to remember…

People can sense when you give from the heart. So give with no expectations. When you do this, you will be rewarded with incredible returns in terms of income, growth, attention, and so much more.

Your message will take off with very little additional input from you because every person that you touch will want to spread that message for you.

#3 – Be You

You need to be you when you send your message out into the world. Your blog posts, social media posts, newsletters or any kind of interaction with others, need to be authentic. The world needs to see and hear you.

The real you. Not someone who’s intent on following the voice, style and formula of a “guru”. Don’t try to be the “next Tony Robbins” or the “next Brendon Burchard” or whoever you look up to and admire. Learn from the greats, adopt their success principles if you want to, but don’t aim to be exactly like them.

You need to be you because there is no one else quite like you. Your life experiences, your personality and the way you see the world — these are unique. You are unique. There’s only one of you in the world so you will be stand out when you’re being yourself. If you try to be someone else, you’re diluting the power of your authenticity. You’ll be one among many. You’ll melt into the crowd.

So be yourself. It’s one of the most powerful ways to stand out. When you get your message out there and people start to listen, all sorts of doors will open and a whole world of opportunity will appear.

You’ll receive the attention that you deserve and the income that you’ve wanted all this time. More importantly, you’ll achieve what you set out to do… You’ll get to change lives. Make a difference.
